Paramount Teen Sports Performance is a strength and conditioning program, combining age-appropriate weightlifting with high intensity training to deliver optimal fitness and performance, as well as establishing a lifetime love of fitness. Proper weightlifting techniques are taught, under the watchful eye of our certified trainers, to enhance strength and power, while also focusing on increasing agility, mobility and flexibility. Our Teen Sports Performance Class is designed to prep athletes for long term success. We focus on not just lifting weights but quality movement and safety.

What you can expect in class:

  • Building a Foundation for quality movement
  • Develop basic strength
  • Develop coordination and body awareness
  • Lifting weights in our program is an earned privilege for quality movement.
  • Develop Strength, Speed, Agility and Power

We also offer Sports Team training and 1:1 training for athletes needing more direct coaching from our staff.

This month, we are shining the spotlight on Zac Dresher. 

Q: Date you joined Paramount?

A: December 2015

Q: What inspired you to start?

A: A friend who was more fit than me.

Q: What are your fitness goals?

A: To be comfortable with my shirt off as well as be physically capable with all body weight excersises.

Q: What do you like most about your workout experience?

A: The community of people and the relationships with the trainers, and nothing beats the feeling of the aftermath of a challenging WOD.

Q: What has been the most challenging for you?

A: Any body weight excersises such as pull ups, push ups, dips, etc. although I’m getting better at it now.

Olympic Weightlifting Technique Clinic

Coach Chris at Paramount Strength & Conditioning is offering an opportunity for a dedicated 4-hour session to refine and improve your weightlifting technique. Coach Chris is excited to share his knowledge and help you achieve new PR’s with better technique. The Paramount philosophy is not how much weight you move but how you move. If you move better, the weight will come. We will be covering the basics of the Snatch and Clean & Jerk that includes a weightlifting bar warm up, and a structured approach to learning the progressions that lead to much better technique and a better understanding of the lifts.

The cost for this clinic is $60 and is open to anyone – you don’t have to be a member of the gym. Please email chris@paramountbarbellclub.com with any in additional questions or signup here. We are capping this clinic at 16 athletes to make sure everyone gets enough coaching. If you purchase a spot and can not attend, please email ASAP so we can open a spot to someone else. We will not be offering refunds, but you are welcome to sell your spot to another athlete.

Coach Chris, head coach of Paramount Barbell Club, has a long list of coaching accomplishments in addition to his own as an athlete in Olympic Weightlifting. His goal is to share with you as much knowledge as possible for this clinic!

fitcamp1FitCamp – not just a workout – take control of your fitness!

Paramount FitCamp is a core strengthening and cardiovascular workout with a wide range of bodyweight exercises and light weights.

If what you are looking for is a program that helps teach you about exercise, nutrition and has coaches to keep you motivated and accountable, then we’ve got you covered with our 8-week FitCamp package!

FitCamp package includes:

– 1 Assessment and Nutritional Consultation with a coach
– 3 One on one personal training sessions with a coach
– 2 Month membership to group classes 3x/week

The FitCamp program starts with a 1-hour session to learn more about you and how we can help you better. We then dive into a movement assessment to see exactly where your strengths and weaknesses are. Then we follow up with a talk about nutrition and how you can easily implement some new habits to give you a jump start on reaching your goals. The next three sessions you will be working one on one with a coach to learn all the movements you will need to know in our group classes. We want you to feel comfortable and confident when attending classes for the first time. The next step will be to join our group classes for two months where you will be working with a coach at each class. The class environment is friendly, high energy and non-intimidating – we all help and encourage one another as we push ourselves to complete the workout! FitCamp is a great way to kick start your new healthy lifestyle and empower you to do things you never thought possible!

Paramount Competitors on TrainHeroic

For years now, I’ve been developing programming for athletes with great results. Recently, I created Paramount Competitors, a competitive CrossFit program on TrainHeroic, to make my programming more accessible.

Paramount Competitors is a well-balanced program designed for athletes ready to take their fitness to the next level. Using clear and concise instructions on what’s expected for each days work, I explain how to perform the strength and accessory work correctly. The program is also designed to be used by gyms for their regular class programming, giving them their own leaderboards on the TrainHeroic app. It even allows for competitive athletes at the same gym to continue on and get in extra work. Everything flows really well so gyms can keep their communities together, even when they have athletes with extra needs.

Paramount Competitors has been thoroughly tested for flow and results before being offered to the public. We have more than thirty athletes of all levels and ages following this program with great results! This includes regional athletes, masters athletes and even athletes new to the competitive scene. Everything in the program is simple, basic and effective without requiring any odd training tools. The program runs in 6-week mini cycles with deload weeks and test out phases every 12-18 weeks. The volume has been proven to be moderately high but not so much that athletes get burned out or over train.
